On thin Ice

There's a first time for everything. Matt, Austin, Isabelle, and I went Ice Skating Thursday night. (Cody wasn't home) Matt has been Ice Skating before when he still lived at home with his parents but not since we have been married and the rest of us have never been Ice Skating. I was a little scared to tell you the truth. Especially when I first stepped on the ice. But we had a lot of fun. It is a lot like roller skating but not just like it. We had a blast and a few falls but no broken bones so all is good. Definitely would like to go again.
Getting ready to go...

Isabelle didn't enjoy herself too much. She couldn't even stand up on her skates. But I'm hoping that she will try again the next time. She actually wouldn't do too bad but if she couldn't just take off on her own she would cry and then she couldn't do anything because she wouldn't even trying. I think she will learn to do better if we continue to take her and let her try.
Austin didn't even want to go because he doesn't enjoy making an idiot of himself in front of people. So I was kind of surprised when he said he would try and I was really surprised when he actually liked it. He did a great job too.
This is just too cute. A picture is worth a thousand words.
If you look close you can see Matt and I skating "together" on the ice. Or as one of our friends put it skating "gracefully." Now let me tell you there was nothing graceful about me on Ice Skates. Matt and I thought we would be cute and try to race each other. Now mind you I have NEVER been on Ice Skates in my life. Who do you think won? That's right I tried to cut a corner too tight and down I went. But I know that if we were on Roller Skates (does anyone roller skate anymore) I would have skunked him bad!!!!

These are not the most comfortable pair of shoes I mean skates you will ever wear but we sure had a lot of fun wearing them.

Where did you go? We were looking over an indoor rink in Westfield on Saturday. Plan to take the girls in a couple weeks. I used to skate often when I was a kid/teen. Then we took the girls 6 years ago and the skates were soooo uncomfortable - I did NOT remember that part - I only made it around once but Janae was hanging on to me so bad! The girls have been begging to go again for two years or so. We might go with friends whose older daughter can help with my younger ones! lol!!

It is an outdoor rink in Lafyette. Matt said he could tell you how to get there over the phone if you wanted to call. It is a very nice little rink. Matt said it was cheaper than the one in Carmel.

Talon has been begging for weeks to go ice skating, so I think we are planning to go soon. He said he has never went, but he is wrong...he was like a month old the first time he went, HA! Looks like you all had fun!
