On thin Ice

There's a first time for everything. Matt, Austin, Isabelle, and I went Ice Skating Thursday night. (Cody wasn't home) Matt has been Ice Skating before when he still lived at home with his parents but not since we have been married and the rest of us have never been Ice Skating. I was a little scared to tell you the truth. Especially when I first stepped on the ice. But we had a lot of fun. It is a lot like roller skating but not just like it. We had a blast and a few falls but no broken bones so all is good. Definitely would like to go again.
Getting ready to go...

Isabelle didn't enjoy herself too much. She couldn't even stand up on her skates. But I'm hoping that she will try again the next time. She actually wouldn't do too bad but if she couldn't just take off on her own she would cry and then she couldn't do anything because she wouldn't even trying. I think she will learn to do better if we continue to take her and let her try.
Austin didn't even want to go because he doesn't enjoy making an idiot of himself in front of people. So I was kind of surprised when he said he would try and I was really surprised when he actually liked it. He did a great job too.
This is just too cute. A picture is worth a thousand words.
If you look close you can see Matt and I skating "together" on the ice. Or as one of our friends put it skating "gracefully." Now let me tell you there was nothing graceful about me on Ice Skates. Matt and I thought we would be cute and try to race each other. Now mind you I have NEVER been on Ice Skates in my life. Who do you think won? That's right I tried to cut a corner too tight and down I went. But I know that if we were on Roller Skates (does anyone roller skate anymore) I would have skunked him bad!!!!

These are not the most comfortable pair of shoes I mean skates you will ever wear but we sure had a lot of fun wearing them.

Mother- in -Law funny

In the background you can see "the picture frame."
Mel looking at her new scrapbook.
Chet and his "little" boys.
We were having Christmas at my in laws house and she has a picture frame that hasn't had pictures in it since she bought it.....at least a year or two ago. We were laughing and "making fun." Telling her that she needed to put new pictures of her family in there instead of the oriental family that is in there now and has been for quite a while now. She sit down at the dinner table and said, " I have two daughter-in-laws who scrapbook and a daughter who takes pictures and none of you will give me pictures or a new scrapbook. We were all dying inside laughing. Later when she opened my Christmas present she had to pull her foot out of her mouth. Heather sent me a disk with several pictures she had taken of each of the kids families and I made a whole scrapbook for her. She said, "Well my complaining worked."

These are a few of my favorite things....

I don't really like taking a lot of pictures on Christmas morning because I think they all start looking the same. But I did won't to share a few of the kids favorite presents this year. All three kids got a homemade blanket from mommy. Austin's is camo, Cody's is Cars, and Isabelle's is Strawberry Shortcake. This kids all also got little rocking chairs too.
Austin.....his black chair and what is probably our best deal this year. His computer desk that was origanlly $100 and we got it for $20. He also got new darts for his dart board, and he thought this shirt was really cool too.

I don't know if you can read it but it says Slackers delight and has pictures of the boy sleeping at his desk, in his bed, and on the sofa.
Cody....Skate Board, Blue chair and his blanket, and his Cars camping set.

Isabelle....Red chair with Strawberry Shortcake basket, Our Generation doll, and Twin babies with baby furniture.

Twas the night before Christmas...

I convinced Isabelle how pretty her hair would look if she would let me put rollers in her hair for Christmas morning. She agreed to let me do it and actually acted like she was happy. I felt kind of bad because I remember my mom doing this to me when I was little and I totally hated it. But she didn't act like she minded and besides she did look adorably cute with her hair in rollers.

Christmas Sunday

This kids did really well in their Christmas program Sunday morning. Belly had a little poem to say and songs to sing with the kids in her class. They all did really well but of course I was a little focused on one specific little girl whom did smile too much. She gets extremly nervous when she has to get up in front of people and the program was no exception. But what did kind of surprise me was the fact that Cody didn't smile much either. He loves to be in front of people but he actually was kind of scared during the program too. But you know it really doesn't matter what your kids do when they are up there it only matters that their mommy is oh so proud of them anyway.
